Join Regions Hospital’s remote coding team as a Health Information Coding Analyst II. This role focuses on inpatient coding across multiple acute-care facilities, including accurate assignment of ICD-10-CM/PCS codes and MS-DRG/APR-DRG groupings. The position supports coding accuracy, compliance, timely completion, quality reporting, reimbursement, and organizational performance.
Key responsibilities
- Complete coding analysis for each individual patient stay.
- Assign accurate diagnoses, procedures, and other relevant data for financial reimbursement and statistical reporting.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Support both inpatient and outpatient coding needs as applicable.
Requirements & Qualifications
Required qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in health information, completion of a coding specialist program, or successful completion of an AHIMA or AAPC coding credential exam.
- 3–5 years of experience in ICD-10/CPT coding.
- One or more of the following credentials: CCA, CIC, COC, CCS, CPC, HCS, CEDC, CCS-P, RHIT, or RHIA.
- Must live in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota, or South Dakota.
Preferred qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in health information or completion of a coding specialist program.
- 5+ years of experience in ICD-10/CPT coding.
- Preferred credentials include CCA, CIC, COC, CCS, CPC, HCS, CEDC, RHIT, or RHIA.
