The Radiation Coder supports the UM Clinical team by reviewing radiation billing codes for accuracy and compliance, triaging radiation cases prior to clinical evaluation, and completing related administrative work. This remote role works 12:00pm-8:30pm EST and focuses on supporting radiation case review, documentation management, and determination of appropriate billing code quantities after medical necessity is established.
The role also collaborates with radiation nursing and medical teams, maintains protocols and billing code references in the company's internal system, and helps support departmental initiatives such as ICD-10 updates, policy review, scope document maintenance, and ticketing system support.
- Associate degree or higher
- ROCC certification preferred, or extensive knowledge of ASTRO radiation coding guidelines and revenue cycle radiation coding strategies
- 2-4 years of experience in a radiation billing code role
- Ability to obtain and interpret clinical information for assessment
- Ability to educate and teach others in a practical manner
- Strong understanding of cost-effective medical outcomes
