UPMC Hillman Cancer Center at the Divine Providence Campus in Williamsport is hiring a full-time Medical Oncology Coder.
This role offers a consistent day shift schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, for a total of 40 hours per week. It is a hybrid position with an initial on-site period at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center in Williamsport, PA for several months. After that, monthly meetings and other required on-site sessions will still be mandatory, with an ideal schedule of at least one day per week in the office and the remainder remote.
Responsibilities include querying physicians when documentation is unclear, supporting accurate code assignment, tracking daily volumes and gross revenues, performing financial billing for professional, facility, and infusion services, assigning and sequencing infusion codes, reviewing records for medical necessity, correcting or completing pre-bill encounters, adding billing codes to the EMR, auditing EMR entries for charge capture, and supporting quality, safety, and compliance efforts.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) required
- Act 34 Clearance required
- 1 year of experience with Physician CPT and ICD-9 coding strongly preferred
- Hematology and oncology coding experience preferred
