Job Summary
The Coding Team Member will code professional fee inpatient cardiology records, with a focus on E/M, observation, and bedside procedure coding. This is a remote position and the candidate must reside in the United States.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide coding services to support clients
- Calculate ProFee E/M levels using the company’s algorithm
- Recognize critical care cases based on patient acuity
- Assign CPT codes for office and bedside procedures
- Apply ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes with high specificity
- Accurately assign diagnosis and procedure codes using ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS
- Interpret coding guidelines for accurate code assignment
- Understand the documentation impact on coding and reimbursement
- Follow AHIMA ethical coding standards and company ethics/compliance policies
- Participate in company training and education
- Protect confidential information, including PHI
Requirements & Qualifications
Qualifications
- Current certification through AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P)
- At least 1 year of on-the-job experience coding IP ProFee cardiology
- Experience with E/M, observation, and bedside procedure coding
- Working knowledge of EMR, billing, and related systems
- Reliable phone, internet connection, and current coding references (CPT and ICD-10-CM)
- Ability to maintain 95%+ productivity and 95%+ quality
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines
- Must live in the United States
- Ability to work independently from home
