Our hospital client is seeking an experienced Medical Coder with strong inpatient and Emergency Department coding experience to join their team. The role focuses on acute care hospital coding workflows in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with medical coding in an acute care hospital setting • Inpatient and ED coding experience required • CCS certification required • AHIMA, RHIA, RHIT, CCP, and/or CCS credentials highly preferred • Strong knowledge of ICD-9 CM, CPT-4, Encoder, and federal/payor billing guidelines • Experience with 3M/HDS coding applications required • Understanding of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes • Strong computer proficiency including MS Word and Excel • Ability to research coding-related issues and assist with coder training • Detail-oriented and knowledgeable with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced acute care environment
