The Physician Coder I is responsible for coding inpatient and outpatient Evaluation and Management (E/M) services, bedside and clinic procedures, and ancillary procedures/testing for all specialties within WakeMed. This role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills to support timely identification and resolution of coding-related issues. The coder will complete assigned tasks in accordance with productivity and quality expectations.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) required
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2 years of physician coding experience preferred
