Busy family-owned, patient-focused orthopaedic practice seeking a skilled certified medical biller/coder to join the revenue cycle team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for orthopaedic office visits and surgeries
- Review physician documentation for completeness, specificity, and coding compliance
- Prepare and submit clean claims to insurance carriers
- Post charges, payments, and adjustments in the practice management system
- Manage denials, appeals, and follow-up to reduce accounts receivable days
- Perform coding audits and collaborate with front office staff and physicians to improve revenue cycle performance
Requirements & Qualifications
Qualifications
- Active certification in CPC (AAPC), CCS-P, COSC, or equivalent
- 2-3 years of recent medical orthopaedic billing/coding experience
- Proficiency with EHR and practice management systems
- Familiarity with HIPAA and CMS guidelines
- Preferred experience in trauma, sports medicine, and joint procedures
