Medical Billing and Coding Specialist position at a clinic/gym hybrid healthcare facility in Southern Oregon. The role supports claims submission, payment posting, denial follow-up, patient account support, reporting, administrative tasks, and workflow improvements in a fast-paced, high-volume office environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Scrubbing and submitting electronic insurance claims daily and paper claims weekly
- Auditing claims submitted through the clearinghouse and payors
- Posting patient and insurance payments in EMR and accounting systems
- Creating sales deposits and reviewing daily transaction reports for accuracy
- Running reports for unbilled claims, missing charges, and disputed charges
- Following up on open claims, denials, and outstanding patient balances
- Assisting patients with statement and account issues
- Supporting workflow and system improvements as the company grows
- Handling inventory orders, purchase orders, and administrative office tasks
Requirements & Qualifications
Required qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years of experience in a medical office setting
- Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding
- Experience with EMR systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Teams, and OneDrive
- Experience with QuickBooks
