Gryphon Healthcare is seeking a Certified Medical Coder to analyze medical records and assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes for emergency room facilities and physician services.
The role focuses on ensuring compliant coding, optimizing reimbursement, minimizing denials, and supporting providers and staff with coding guidance and billing issue resolution. This is a remote position for U.S. residents.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Certification required: CPCO, CPC, or CCS
- Minimum 3+ years of medical coding experience in both professional fee and facility coding
- Preferred experience in the Emergency Room Department
- Experience with Evaluation and Management (E/M) coding
- Experience coding injections, infusions, labs, radiology, and supplies
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers
- Understanding of billing criteria for appropriate diagnosis and procedure coding
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology as it relates to coding compliance
- Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, EDI, and commercial insurance systems
- Ability to maintain 95% coding accuracy and productivity standards
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills
- Must be customer-service oriented and able to work effectively in a team environment
- Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft 365 and Windows navigation
