We are seeking a highly specialized and detail-oriented Medical Biller & Coder to join an Electrophysiology (EP) Cardiology practice. This role focuses on complex cardiac rhythm management billing, translating intricate EP operative notes into accurate claims, navigating strict 90-day global surgery periods, and helping maximize revenue cycle efficiency for high-value cardiac procedures and office claims.
Key responsibilities include coding and reviewing daily inpatient and outpatient claims for specialized EP procedures and office claims, applying modifiers to bypass NCCI edits, submitting primary and secondary claims through the clearinghouse, monitoring and resolving front-end rejections, conducting root-cause analysis on denied claims, tracking timely filing deadlines for Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid, and reviewing clinical notes while issuing formal queries to providers when needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- Active CPC or CCS-P certification preferred
- 1–3 years of dedicated medical billing experience preferred
- Cardiology or Interventional Electrophysiology experience is a plus
- Hands-on experience with EMR and practice management billing modules required
- eClinicalWorks (eCW) experience preferred
- Strong ICD-10 and CPT knowledge preferred
- Ability to communicate billing guidelines clearly with physicians, clinical staff, and insurance companies
