Highly detail-oriented medical biller and coder needed for a full-cycle revenue cycle role supporting pain management, orthopedics, imaging, physical therapy, and home health billing. This position focuses on claim submission, coding integrity, denial management, appeals, payment posting, accounts receivable follow-up, insurance verification, and authorization support. The role requires direct experience with workers' compensation and commercial insurance claims, with daily use of billing and eligibility portals.
Requirements & Qualifications
Required qualifications
- Medical Billing/Coding Certificate required, or recent graduate of a medical billing and coding program
- 1+ year of medical billing experience preferred
- 1+ year of medical coding experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS coding
- Experience with pain management, orthopedics, imaging, physical therapy, and home health billing
- Understanding of Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission (IWCC) guidelines
- Experience using Availity, Connex, and IWCC portals
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Familiarity with EHR and billing software
- Knowledge of HIPAA, CMS guidelines, and insurance compliance
- Spanish speaking preferred but not required
- Ability to work full time with no restrictions
