In this role, you will accurately translate medical procedures, diagnoses, and services into standardized codes and support efficient billing operations, revenue cycle management, and compliance with healthcare regulations.
You will review medical records, assign ICD-10, CPT, and DRG codes, submit claims through EMR/EHR systems, follow up on unpaid or rejected claims, maintain organized records, and collaborate with providers to resolve documentation issues. The position also involves assisting with audits and helping improve billing accuracy and workflow efficiency.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Proficiency with ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and DRG coding systems
- Experience with medical billing processes, claim submission, and payment posting
- Familiarity with EMR and EHR systems
- Ability to perform medical collection activities professionally
- Excellent attention to detail
- Effective communication skills for working with providers, insurers, and patients
- Understanding of HIPAA compliance and confidentiality requirements
