We are seeking experienced billing and coding specialists to work with dermatology clients.
This role involves handling insurance and patient payments, reviewing claims before submission, submitting claims electronically or on paper, managing denials and accounts receivable, and supporting patient billing inquiries. The position also includes preparing patient statements, setting up payment plans, performing soft collections, maintaining HIPAA compliance, and working with specialty authorizations and coverage limits.
The work is performed in person.
Requirements & Qualifications
Required Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of medical billing experience
- Experience with EZ Derm and/or EMA (Modmed) preferred
- Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 coding rules and guidelines
- Knowledge of commercial payer claim processes
- Understanding of deductible and co-insurance determination
- Ability to verify benefits, insurance IDs, diagnosis and treatment codes, modifiers, and provider information
- CPC or CPB certification preferred
- Bilingual skills are a plus
- Spanish preferred
