- One year of work experience with medical billing in a private practice or hospital setting
- Experience working with insurance carriers and obtaining authorizations
- Strong phone and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer skills, including typing and Microsoft Office Suite
- Athena EHR software preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Active coding certification preferred
- Orthopaedic coding experience preferred
