Michigan Healthcare Professionals, P.C. is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Coder and Biller to support accurate diagnosis and procedure coding, efficient claim submission, and effective revenue cycle management in a physician-led healthcare organization.
Responsibilities include:
- Assign diagnostic codes using ICD-9, ICD-10, and CPT coding systems
- Use DRG classifications for hospital billing and reimbursement
- Prepare and submit claims through EHR and EMR systems
- Verify insurance coverage, process medical collections, and follow up on denied or unpaid claims
- Maintain organized medical records and ensure documentation compliance
- Stay current with medical terminology, coding guidelines, and billing regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve documentation and coding discrepancies
Requirements & Qualifications
Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical billing and coding within a healthcare setting
- Strong knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and DRG coding systems
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and billing procedures
- Experience using EMR/EHR systems for documentation and claim submission
- Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret complex clinical information accurately
- Knowledge of medical collections and insurance claim processing
- Prior experience in a medical office environment preferred
- CPC certification is a plus
