Now hiring an inpatient medical coder for a full-time, non-exempt day-shift position with a primarily remote, hybrid schedule.
The role supports timely and accurate clinical and administrative data for inpatient, rehab, and/or skilled nursing coding to help ensure optimal reimbursement and facility support. The position may code across multiple specialties, including cardiology, critical care, neurology, oncology, orthopedics, surgery, pulmonary critical care, radiation therapy, and wound care/hyperbaric therapy.
The work location is in the Saginaw, MI area, and the selected candidate must be somewhat local and available to occasionally travel on-site for team meetings and professional development.
Qualifications
- RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification required
- Eligible bachelor’s or associate degree graduates may be considered if they are expected to pass the national exam
- Acute care inpatient coding experience preferred
- Inpatient diagnosis and inpatient procedure coding experience preferred
- Experience using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding books and references preferred
- Clinical documentation knowledge for inpatient coding strongly preferred
- At least 6 months to 1 year of current/recent inpatient acute hospital coding experience preferred
- Must be able to work on-site occasionally for meetings and professional development
