Aultman Medical Group is seeking a Senior Billing Specialist responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and assigning ICD-10 Diagnosis and CPT codes for professional billing. This role also supports professional inpatient versus observation status coding and broader revenue integrity activities.
Key responsibilities include charge capture, timely charge entry, revenue improvement initiatives, and compliant documentation review. The position works closely with practice leaders, providers, and CBO leadership to address open encounters, zero charges, and other areas of concern or opportunity.
The role may also involve assisting with additional administrative tasks and supporting other areas of the Revenue Cycle or Clinical divisions as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of coding experience in a physician office or outpatient hospital setting
- Experience with abstraction of codes preferred
- RHIA, RHIT, CCA, CCS, or CPC certification preferred but not required
- Additional certifications are helpful
- Knowledge of accounts receivable goals and their impact
- Ability to establish and organize daily workflow
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, encoder tools, and hospital software applications
- Ability to manage multiple demands from a variety of constituents
