Responsible for processing outcome studies and data requests from physicians, cancer committees, administration, marketing, business development, the Kentucky Cancer Registry, and other outside sources.
The role requires strong knowledge of cancer registry data systems, the American College of Surgeons Cancer Program, and the National Cancer Data Base. The specialist will design and produce statistical reports and graphs for outcome reporting, review cancer data abstracts for accuracy, assist with quality training, and support abstracting to maintain required standards. The position also supports quality initiatives and NCDB annual reporting for Norton Cancer Institute.
Required:
- Three years of experience working with the National Cancer Registry
- Three years of experience as a Certified Tumor Registrar
- Associate degree
- Oncology Data Specialist (ODS)
Desired:
- Five years of experience working with the National Cancer Registry
- Bachelor’s degree
- Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
