A Billing Specialist / Medical Coder serves as a liaison to outside clinic billing departments and assists with internal billing needs. The role is responsible for insurance follow-up, accounts receivable management, charge review, claims mailing, documentation attachment, and other tasks needed to ensure charges are submitted accurately and on time.
This position also supports communication with clinic teams and management regarding outstanding A/R, coverage criteria updates, compliance changes, and ICD-10 information. DME or podiatry experience is a plus.

Required experience and qualifications
- At least 2 years of medical billing experience
- Certified Medical Coder preferred
- General knowledge of medical insurance carriers and Medicare
- Ability to work quickly, accurately, and with strong attention to detail
- Pleasant and helpful telephone communication skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel and Word
- DME or podiatry billing experience is a plus
- Supervisory or leadership experience preferred
