You will help ensure billing processes run smoothly, claims are submitted accurately and on time, and patient service remains strong. This role works closely with the healthcare team to support efficient billing operations and reimbursement workflows.
Key responsibilities include monitoring ready-to-bill files, verifying documentation before submission, sending claims within required timeframes, participating in care conferences, ensuring billing accuracy, securing authorizations when needed, responding to patient and client questions, collaborating with collections, reviewing electronic claims for clean submission, alerting management to missing documentation, assisting with billing data entry and system tasks, recommending process improvements, monitoring aged accounts receivable, and handling overdue accounts and bad debt reporting.
At least 2 years of experience in insurance verification and medical billing, specifically with home infusion and specialty pharmacy claims.
High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
Strong communication, organization, multitasking, and customer service skills.
Knowledge of insurance plans, billing procedures, healthcare documentation, coding, and compliance regulations.
Experience with electronic billing systems such as Change Healthcare or similar platforms.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
