The Insurance Credit Specialist reviews and analyzes insurance and patient accounts with credit balances. The role involves reviewing explanation of benefits (EOBs), contacting insurance carriers for additional information, and following up through phone, email, and payer websites to resolve credit balance and refund issues.
This position supports the Medical Group Revenue Integrity team at Lifepoint Health and helps ensure accurate handling of insurance credit activity, unapplied cash, and refund requests while maintaining confidentiality of protected health information (PHI).
High school diploma or GED required.
Associate degree or bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or a related field preferred.
One year of experience in insurance billing or insurance follow-up for Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers required.
Experience analyzing explanation of benefits (EOBs) from multiple insurance companies or payers.
Medical terminology knowledge preferred.
Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding.
Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
Monday-Friday schedule, 40 hours per week, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM in your time zone.
