As a member of the Amazon One Medical Senior Health Revenue Cycle team, the Medical Coder I will support Clinical and Revenue Cycle teams by reviewing coding accuracy of claims. The role reports to the Manager I, Finance.
This position supports Amazon Health Services and focuses on driving financial improvement, scalability, and process excellence through strong accountability, high standards, and continuous operational improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing multiple coding-related projects and ensuring deliverables meet One Medical standards
- Remaining current on CPT, ICD-10-CM coding guidelines, AHA Coding Clinic guidance, and CMS Risk Adjustment guidance
- Assigning appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and other relevant codes to office visits, procedures, and diagnoses in a production environment
- Reviewing and completing email requests in a timely manner
- Collaborating with the Medicare Risk Operations team to support positive program outcomes
Basic qualifications
- Experience performing accurate and complete chart reviews for profee coding
- Experience in profee auditing, coding, and documentation requirements
- 2+ years of medical profee coding experience
- CPC certification through AAPC or CCS certification through AHIMA
Preferred qualifications
- Knowledge of health system operations, including reimbursement methodologies and coding conventions
- Ability to perform accurate and complete chart reviews for Profee and HCC Risk Adjustment
