Health Services Medical Biller/Coder in the Administration/Billing Program (Classification 757) is a full-time, SEIU-represented position working 37.5 hours per week. The role is responsible for outpatient/physician coding, billing, charge entry, payment posting, claims follow-up, reimbursement monitoring, refunds, and maintaining compliance with healthcare and government regulations.
This position requires on-site work. Remote work is not available.
Requirements & Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of experience in healthcare billing or certification in healthcare billing/coding.
- An AHIMA or AAPC billing/coding certification is required: CCS, CPC, COC, CCS-P, RHIA, or RHIT.
- Strong working knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, modifiers, coding, and documentation guidelines.
- Knowledge of outpatient code sets including CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM/PCS, reimbursement regulations, coding guidelines, medical terminology, and revenue cycle workflows.
- Familiarity with healthcare technology and Electronic Health Record (EHR) practices.
- Must have Medicaid/Medicare billing experience.
- Previous coding experience in a multi-specialty clinic is preferred.
- Some college coursework in accounting/finance and Microsoft Excel knowledge is desired.
- Must be able to pass a criminal history check.
- Must possess or obtain a valid Oregon driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Non-supervisory position; may provide training and orientation to new personnel.

- Ability to interpret and educate staff on Oregon Revised Statutes, Oregon Administrative Rules, and related federal regulations.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively in a team setting.
