The Revenue Integrity Charge Review Analyst is responsible for identifying variations in daily total charges across hospital revenue-generating departments and monitoring ancillary charge reports for potential charging issues related to system failures, updates, or other causes. The role reviews denial trends for documentation and charging opportunities and serves as a liaison between facility administration, shared services, and ancillary department leaders regarding charge variation and revenue opportunities.
Key responsibilities include charge reviews, coding and clinical documentation review, detailed charge audits, chargemaster support, charge optimization projects, regulatory review, and support during Meditech Expanse implementation. The position also supports education, workflow improvement, compliance, and patient audit activities across facilities.
Associate degree or above, or a healthcare license/certification.
Minimum 1 year of directly related healthcare or coding experience.
Knowledge of CPT/HCPCS codes or experience with charging and charging validation reviews preferred.
Healthcare certification/licensure such as RHIT, CCS, CCP, CPC, or other recognized AHIMA coding credential, or clinical credentials such as LPN, LVN, RT, or PT may be accepted in lieu of a degree with work experience.
Working knowledge of Medicare guidance, inpatient/outpatient status, observation requirements, Revenue Cycle Pro, 3M Coding systems, and 3M Coding Resources.
Ability to travel up to 60%.
