The Revenue Integrity Charge Review Analyst is responsible for identifying variations in daily total charges across hospital revenue-generating departments. The role monitors ancillary charge reports, investigates potential charging issues, reviews denial trends, and serves as a liaison between facilities, shared services, and ancillary department leadership.
This position supports charge review, coding, and clinical documentation activities, with a strong focus on revenue integrity, chargemaster support, compliance, and optimization of charging workflows. The role also supports Meditech Expanse implementation, charge audits, and special revenue cycle projects.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher, or a healthcare license/certification.
- At least 1 year of directly related healthcare experience or coding experience.
- Knowledge of CPT/HCPCS codes or experience with charging validation reviews preferred.
- Healthcare certification/licensure such as RHIT, CCS, CCP, CPC, or another recognized AHIMA coding credential is accepted in lieu of a degree with work experience.
- Working knowledge of Medicare guidance, inpatient/outpatient status, and observation requirements.
- Familiarity with Revenue Cycle Pro, 3M Coding systems, and 3M Coding Resources preferred.
Role Responsibilities
- Review charging, coding, and clinical documentation.
- Perform detailed charge audits and reconcile billing data against clinical documentation.
- Support chargemaster development and charging practices for new service lines or procedures.
- Monitor charging practices, provide education, and support remedial training.
- Review CMS transmittals, Local Coverage Determinations (LCDs), and other regulatory communications.
- Participate in charge optimization projects and patient audits.
- Up to 60% travel required.
- Work-from-home role requiring residence within 60 miles of an HCA Healthcare hospital.
