Tenet Healthcare is a leading health system operating 65 hospitals and about 510 outpatient centers across the US. The Inpatient Corporate Coder role is responsible for accurate coding and abstracting of clinical information from medical records for Tenet facilities, maintaining coding data quality, and assisting with quality reviews and training.
Key responsibilities include: coding patient health documentation, reviewing flagged cases for coding accuracy, assisting with coding audits, and participating in coding education to maintain credentials.
Qualifications required: high school diploma or equivalent, 1-3 years inpatient coding experience, proficiency in MS Office and electronic medical records, and successful completion of a certified AHIMA program (RHIA, RHIT, or CCS preferred).
Preferred qualifications: associate or bachelor's degree in Health Information, Nursing or related field, 3+ years inpatient coding experience, and experience in a large health system.
A pre-employment coding proficiency assessment will be administered.
Compensation ranges from $26.40 to $39.00 per hour depending on location and experience, with possible signing bonus eligibility.
