As a Clinical Abstraction Specialist at UHS, you will abstract inpatient and outpatient medical record data in accordance with regulatory requirements and support timely, accurate submissions to CMS, TJC, and clinical registries.
You will audit records for CMS Conditions of Participation and TJC standards, provide consultation and support to clinical and operational teams, and participate in process improvement initiatives such as Lean Six Sigma. This role helps maintain data integrity using tools like QNet and supports important regulatory deadlines.
Requirements & Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate in Applied Science in Health Information Technology, or
- Licensed Practical Nurse, or
- Relevant associate degree in healthcare
- RHIT or RHIA within 6 months of hire, or LPN, or one of the following certifications: CCS, CPC, CMBS, or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate in Applied Science in Health Information Technology with 3 years of experience
