The Patient Scheduler is responsible for scheduling clinical staff to visit patients. This includes coordinating Option Care Nursing, Subcontracted Nursing, and Network Nursing to ensure appropriate patient care.
The role works closely with pharmacy, nursing, and warehouse teams to determine schedule needs and availability. It also involves contacting patients and clinicians, interpreting physician orders, running reports in required systems, and escalating patient complaints or staffing issues as needed.
This position may also perform clerk functions when needed and must protect the confidentiality of patient and company information.
Basic education and experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year of previous scheduling experience
- At least 1 year of experience in a general office administration setting or similar fast-paced environment
Basic qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with coworkers, management, external clients, and patients
- Basic Microsoft Word skills, including creating documents, entering and formatting text, page layouts, tables, and graphics
- Basic Microsoft Excel skills, including creating worksheets, entering data, basic formulas, and working with cells and rows
- Customer service experience supporting internal and external customers
Preferred qualifications
- Previous home healthcare experience
- Familiarity with electronic scheduling platforms
- 2 years of experience in a general office administration setting or similar fast-paced environment
