This role is for an experienced Medical Biller / A/R Specialist who will serve as an Account Manager for assigned provider accounts. The position focuses on workers’ compensation, no-fault, Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance billing, with a strong emphasis on denied claim appeals, A/R follow-up, and denial management.
Key responsibilities include charge entry, benefits verification, prior authorization support, claims follow-up, communication with clients and office staff, and preparation of A/R and denial tracking reports. The role also includes assisting patients with billing questions and maintaining HIPAA compliance.
Minimum Requirements
- On-site work in Commack, NY
- 2+ years of recent medical billing experience
- Hands-on experience with workers’ compensation medical billing
- Hands-on experience with no-fault insurance medical billing
- Proven experience appealing denied claims with insurance payers
- Strong insurance A/R follow-up and denial management experience
- Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance billing rules
- Proficiency using insurance payer websites and portals for eligibility, claim status, EOBs, and appeals
- Ability to manage provider accounts independently and communicate clearly with clients and patients
- Basic to intermediate Excel or spreadsheet skills for reporting and tracking
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with pre-certification or prior authorization
- Familiarity with EHR, practice management, or medical billing software
- Bilingual English/Spanish or other language skills preferred but not required
