Skilled Wound Care is seeking a Lead Medical Biller to support the billing team at its hybrid office in Playa Vista, California. This role is responsible for overseeing daily billing operations, ensuring accurate and timely medical claim submission, and protecting the financial health of the organization.
The Lead Medical Biller serves as the primary subject matter expert for the end-to-end claims lifecycle, driving team performance, resolving complex billing issues, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and FQHC-specific billing regulations.
Key responsibilities include supervising and training billing staff, managing workflow, reviewing claims for accuracy, following up on outstanding claims, resolving denials, analyzing EOBs and ERAs, posting payments accurately, and supporting appeals for underpaid or denied services.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of Lead Medical Biller experience required
- Medical billing diploma or equivalent work experience
- Experience with Lytec or Medisoft is a plus
- CPC certification preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- High school diploma or equivalent required
