Works under the direct supervision of the Outpatient Coding and Reimbursement Manager in Health Information Management.
Assigns ICD-10-CM and CPT diagnosis and procedure codes for outpatient visits.
Ensures proper ASC/APC assignment and supports UHS guest relation's policy.
Location: University Health - San Antonio ยท Revenue Integrity
Schedule: Full Time, Day Shift.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Two years of outpatient coding experience required
Certification
- Valid certification from AAPC or AHIMA required and must be maintained
Additional Knowledge
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements
- Microsoft Office proficiency preferred
- 3M Encoding and Grouping Software preferred
