Become part of Humana's caring community as a remote Risk Adjustment Coder. In this role, you will conduct quality assurance coding of medical records and ICD-10 diagnosis codes submitted to CMS and other government agencies. You will ensure coding accuracy and appropriate support within the clinical documentation record, while working independently within broad guidelines.
This position includes remote work after virtual training, with occasional overtime and possible travel to Humana offices for training or meetings.
Required qualifications
- One of the following credentials is required: CPC, CPC-A, COC, CIC, CRC, CCA, CCS, or CCS-P
- Experience working in a production- and quality-driven, goal-oriented environment
- Ability to maintain annual continuing education and remain in good standing with AAPC or AHIMA
- Ability to attend 3 weeks of virtual classroom training, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Eastern Time
- Ability to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with mandatory overtime as needed
- Dedicated confidential workspace without distractions
- Proficiency with computers, digital tools, and multiple software applications
Preferred qualifications
- Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency
- Risk adjustment experience
- HCC coding experience
