2022 | CPT Codes Inter-Professional Phone/Eletronic Health Record Consults

CPT 99446 Description: CPT 99446 can be used for a consult (five to ten minutes) that is performed by a consulting physician via EHR (electronic health record), internet or phone and provides a verbal and written report to the requesting physician/qualified healthcare provider.

CPT 99447 Description:  CPT 99447 can be used for an consult (eleven to twenty minutes) that is performed by a consulting physician via EHR (electronic health record), internet or phone and provides a verbal and written report to the requesting physician/qualified healthcare provider.

CPT 99448 Description: CPT 99448 can be used for a consult (twenty-one to thirty minutes) performed by a consulting physician via EHR (electronic health record), internet or phone and provides a verbal and written report to the requesting physician/qualified healthcare provider.

CPT 99449 Description: CPT 99448 can be used for a consult (31+ minutes) performed by a consulting physician via EHR (electronic health record), internet or phone and provides a verbal and written report to the requesting physician/qualified healthcare provider.

CPT 99451 Description: Five or more minutes are spent by the consultant/provider evaluating a patient’s medical condition via various electronic media, and a report for the referring provider is prepared.

CPT 99452 Description: A qualified healthcare professional (a treating or requesting physician or other) spends 30 minutes providing healthcare information about a patient to a consultant with the help of various electronic media.
