The Revenue Cycle Manager oversees and optimizes the full revenue cycle process within a healthcare organization. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely billing, coding, and collections to maximize revenue and support financial health.
The manager leads the team handling patient registration, insurance verification, claims submission, payment posting, and denial management. They work closely with clinical, financial, and administrative departments to streamline workflows, implement best practices, and improve operational efficiency.
The position focuses on reducing revenue leakage, accelerating cash flow, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management or medical billing and coding
- Strong knowledge of medical billing, coding standards such as ICD-10 and CPT, and payer policies
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and revenue cycle management software
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and driving process improvements
- Preferred: CRCP or CPC certification
- Preferred: Experience with multiple payer contracts and government healthcare programs such as Medicare and Medicaid
- Preferred: Advanced knowledge of healthcare compliance regulations including HIPAA and the Affordable Care Act
- Preferred: Experience with data analytics tools and reporting software
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related discipline
